Which? exists to make consumers as powerful as the organisations they come across in their daily lives. In fact, we’ve been doing this for 50 years by helping people make the right buying decisions, telling consumers their rights and exposing corporate wrongdoing. Across our issues, whether personal finance, food, health or retail, we're never afraid to take on the big institutions and we have had considerable success in protecting consumers. Our lobbying brought about the Food Standards Agency; helped consumers recoup millions of pounds against mis-sold endowments and unfair bank charges; delivered legislative reform in estate agency and legal services and is challenging industry to be more responsible when marketing food to children.

We’re now looking for a senior public affairs officer to join our team. Working across a number of our issues, you’ll promote a range of campaigns and policies to decision-makers and other stakeholders and devise and implement public affairs tools to further our campaign aims as well as the profile of the organisation. As well as the verbal and written communication skills to put across complicated policy positions clearly and convincingly, you’ll need sound knowledge of UK government and parliamentary processes plus lobbying experience in the UK political environment. An understanding of consumer policy and of working in EU institutions would be desirable.
